Three people -- accused in a case filed over the murder of an Awami Leader in Tangail-- were arrested on Monday.
Sumon, Sujon and Faruk were arrested from different spots of Gopalpur upazila in Tangail after the victim's younger brother Al Mamun Talukdar filed a murder case in this regard, confirmed Dhanbari police station officer-in-charge Chan Mia.
Aminul Islam Talukdar Nixon, the general secretary of Hadia union unit Awami League in Gopalpur upazila, was hacked to death by miscreants on Friday.
He was an assistant professor of the Department of Social Science in Lion Nazrul Islam Degree College in Tangail.
According to police and local sources, Aminul was returning to his home in Dhanbari village after a meeting with his political party men in Ajgora village on the night of the incident.
