A leader of Bogra district unit Swechchasebak League has reportedly been stabbed to death by an alleged informant of police in Malgram area of the city.
The deceased, Rokonuzzaman Rony, 33, was called to a deserted place beside his house on July 18 and stabbed to death by some unidentified perpetrators, locals say.
Sharmin Akter Ruma, elder sister of Rony, filed a murder case with Sadar police station accusing five people.
Acting on the case, police arrested a suspected killer named Rakib, and made drives to arrest the rest, Sadar police station OC Humayun Kabir.
The prime accused in the case, Abdus Sobhan is claimed to be an informant of police, Rony’s family sources said.
However, Additional Superintendent of Police Sanatan Chakrabarty denied the fact and said Sobhan has been framed into the case out of rivalry.
