A seven-year-old girl has been killed after a truck lost control and smashed a house in Charpara village of Narshingdi's Palash upaizla on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Jhinuk, daughter of Ruma Begum and Shafiq Mia.
Quoting locals, Palash police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Nasir Uddin said the truck was on Panchdona-Tongi Highway in the early hours of Thursday, when it lost control near Ghorashal Shaheed Moyej Uddin Bridge and smashed into the house.

Four others including the girl's parents were injured in the incident. All of the injured are currently undergoing treatment at Narsingdi Sadar hospital, said OC Nasir.
He further said police are trying to locate the truck driver and his assistant.
