A mobile court fined PRAN-RFL Group Tk10 lakh for unauthorised production and marketing of hand sanitizers in Narsingdi on Wednesday.
Executive Magistrate Parvez Mullick of the district adminstration raided the company's spinning mill in Danga area of Palash upazila and handed over the verdict.
Acting on a tip-off, the mobile court took a team of Rapid Action Battalion-11 and the district's superintendent of drug and raided the factory, said Parvez.
The court seized and destroyed a huge quantity of unauthorized hand sanitizers while the company has been fined Tk10 lakh, added Parvez.
The company had also been producing surgical masks at the factory without any clearance, although they have permission of producing such masks at their factory in Habiganj, according to sources.
Moshtak Ahmed, the company's district unit general manager, on Wednesday said he didn't know the details of the matter as he was not in office that moment and can make a comment later.
