A Chittagong businessman filed a case against Chairman of Regent Group, Md Shahed, charging him with misappropriation.
Sadip Kumar Das, Officer-in-Charge of Double Mooring police station confirmed the matter.
Zia Uddin Md Jahangir, a Chittagong-based importer of motor parts and proprietor of Mega Motors, lodged the case with Double Mooring police station in the city on Monday.
According to the case documents, the plaintiff alleged that Chairman of Regent Group, Md Shahed, deceived him and misappropriated Tk 91.25 lakh from him.
On July 7, RAB filed a case against Shahed and 16 other staff of Regent Group and Regent hospitals after a mobile court found proof that the hospital authorities issued fake Covid-19 certificates and charged patients for tests and treatment, violating an agreement with the government.
Shahed has been on the run since law enforcement started raiding his organizations.
