Two arrested with yaba in Cox's Bazar and Jessore

Law enforcement arrested two suspected drug dealers with 41,335 yaba tablets from Cox's Bazar and Jessore on Thursday evening.

The arrested were identified as  Reaj Uddin, 31, of Cox's Bazar's Moheshkhali upazila, and Md Abu Sayeed, 22, of Agrabhulot village in Jessore's Sharsha upazila.

In Cox's Bazar, the district's Detective Branch of Police arrested Reaj from Chakmarkul  Kalghar market area in Cox's Bazar's Ramu upazila.

He was standing by a road with 40,000 yaba tablets in a bag full of dried chili, said DB police Inspector Manash Barua.

In Jessore, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained Md Abu Sayeed with the contraband drug from Agrabhulot village.

Acting on a tipoff, BGB raided the village and picked him from a bamboo orchard.

The detained was handed over to Sharsha police station on Friday morning and a case was filed against him, said Lt Col Monjur E Elahi, commanding officer of BGB battalion 21.
