Police recovered the hanging body of a Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel from inside BGB Rajshahi Battalion-1 headquarters on Friday morning.
Farhad Hossain, a Sepahi of BGB-59 Battalion in Chapainwabganj, was on training there. He was the son of Abdur Rahim from Ibrahimpur village of Nabinagar upazila, Brahmanbaria.
Confirming the matter, BGB Rajshahi Battalion-1 Commander Ltd Colonel Ziauddin Mahamud said: "Primarily, we suspect Farhad might have committed suicide at around 2am to 4am. After seeing the dead body, we informed Chandrima police station."
The body was taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital(RMCH), he added.
Regarding the matter, Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP)'s Spokesperson and Additional Deputy Commissioner Golam Ruhul Kuddus said the cause of death can only be confirmed after autopsy.
He also added that the body of the deceased would be handed over to his family after legal procedures are completed.
