A suspected robber was killed in a reported gunfight with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Chittagong.
The incident took place in Borotakia of Mirsharai upazila on Thursday morning, reports Bangla Tribune.
The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained but he was estimated to be about 32 years old, said RAB-7 Assistant Director Md Mahmudul Hasan Mamun.
Tipped off that a team of armed robbers had gathered in Borotakiya, a RAB team conducted a drive there. Upon the arrival of the elite force at the location, the gang of robbers opened fire, triggering a gunfight, said Md Mahmudul.
When the gunfight ended RAB found the bullet-riddled body of a 32-year-old man. Two firearms, eight bullets, and a few locally made weapons were recovered from the spot, added the RAB officer.
