Senior Journalist Monaem Khan's mother passed away on Tuesday, two days after the man died of Covid-19.
Sazeda Begum, 85, breathed her last due to old-age complications at 12 noon, undergoing treatment at a hospital.
However, she was not informed of her son's passing, said Hasanur Rashid, former general secretary of the Cox's Bazar Journalist Union.
Monaem Khan, 54, breathed his last in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Sunday.
Monaem was the incumbent Cox’s Bazar correspondent for the national English daily, The Financial Express.
Bangladesh has so far confirmed 71,675 Covid-19 cases including 975 deaths.
