A woman has been stabbed to death by her angry seven-year-old child, who stabbed her with a local sharp kitchen tool after being refused when he asked her for money.
The incident took place at Berpara Purbapara village of Paba upazila, Rajshahi around 9am, Monday morning, police and local sources said.
The deceased, Fatematul Tohura, 28, --a housewife-- had denied giving money to her son and was hacked to death by her furious child.
Family sources said, after the incident, the child panicked seeing his bloodied mother and ran away to his aunt’s house nearby.
When they got to know of the incident, members of the family took the critically injured mother to the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared her dead, they confirmed.
“The child did not know what he was doing. We will proceed with the legal measures after discussing with the deceased’s family,” said Damkura police station OC Mazharul Islam.
“Initially we contacted the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to investigate the matter,” added the OC.
