Mango trading has begun at Kansat mango market in Shibganj upazila, Chapainawabganj district.
Kansat Mango Traders Association and Shibganj upazila administration jointly inaugurated this year's mango trading in the country's biggest mango market on Tuesday afternoon.
However, on the first day there weren’t enough mangoes, but mango farmers and traders say the supply will increase in a couple of days.
They said the demand for Chapainawabganj mangoes has always been high due to their delicious taste. Wholesalers will be flocking to local markets daily to get their supply of mangoes.
Shibganj upazila Nirbahi officer (UNO) Shimul Akhtar said that like every year, delicious Chapainawabganj mangoes will be transported to other parts of the country from this market.
Mango farmers and traders in the market have been told to maintain social distancing in conducting business, he added.
