Police arrested two people with a large stock of weapons, mostly locally made, from Uttar Shaktala village of Sonaimuri upazila in Noakhali early Saturday.
The arrested are Yusuf Zaved, 20, of Uttar Kaluai village and Md Sabbir, 22, of Uttar Shaktala village, confirmed Sonaimuri police station officer-in-charge (OC) Abdus Samad.
Police recovered three locally made rifles, a shotgun, a gun, five China-made axes, a sword, two knives and a few other sharp weapons, said the OC.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a drive, arrested the duo and seized the weapon's hidden inside Sabbir's kitchen, the OC added.
The arrested have several cases filed against them including the vandalization of police cars and attempting to murder former Jubo League president Md Yusuf, the OC further said.
