Four die from electrocution in Narayanganj and Naogaon

At least four people were killed in electrocution in Narayanganj and Naogaon on Wednesday.

In Narayanganj, three people including two children have died from electrocution in Siddhirganj upazila.

The deceased are, Rubina Akter, 25, her daughter Sumaiya Akter, 10 and a toddler named Hasan Sheikh, 3, who used to live in the building with them, confirmed Siddhirganj police station OC Kamrul Faruk.

Quoting witnesses, OC Kamrul Faruk, said an electricity supply cable damaged by lightning during storm fell on a tin-shed house in Rasulbagh this morning.

The trio came in contact with the electric cable while coming out of the house and died on the spot, said the OC.

“Hasan Sheikh’s parents, Rabiul and Shabana were critically injured and undergoing treatment at a hospital,” added the OC.

In Naogaon, an elderly man was killed after he came into contact with an electric livewire in Patnitala upazila.

The deceased Abdus Sattar, 65, went to cut trees when he came in contact with the wire in Bhagabanpur village, confirmed Potnitola police station Sub-Inspector Md Ziaur Rahman.
