5 more with Covid-19 symptoms die

At least five people, including a child, with symptoms similar to those of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) died on Saturday in five districts.

Meanwhile, the health authorities collected samples from the deceased and sent them to the nearby Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) labs to be tested for Covid-19.

In Khulna, a 16-month-old child, suffering from shortness of breath, died while undergoing treatment at the isolation unit of Khulna Medical College Hospital(KMCH), said Corona Isolation Ward spokesperson Soilendranath Biswas.

In Sylhet, a 35-year-old man of Habiganj sadar upazila, suffering from cough, cold and fever, died at Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital, as confirmed by Habiganj Civil Surgeon Dr Mokhlesur Rahman Uzzal.

In Moulvibazar, a 61-year-old woman suffering from cough, cold and fever, died at the isolation unit of the Moulvibazar 250-bed General Hospital, said Civil Surgeon Tauhid Ahmed.

In Bhola, an elderly man, suffering from respiratory problems and diabetes, died at the isolation ward of Bhola’s 250-bed General Hospital, said Civil Surgeon Dr Raton Kumar Dhali.

In Satkhira, a man suffering from fever and respiratory problems died at Sadar hospital. The man hailed from Kaliganj Upazila, said Upazila Health Complex officer Dr Toiyebur Rahman.
