At least four people have been killed in separate road accidents in Pabna, Netrokona and Tangail on Friday.
In Pabna, a motorcyclist has been killed when his vehicle collided head-on with a truck in Pakshi union of Ishwardi upazila.
The deceased Mohsin Ali Mullick, 50, was the son of late Mozahar Mullick of Ishwardi upazila.
Ishwardi police station OC Bahauddin Faruki said Mohsin was on his way home when his motorbike collided head-on with a truck on the Bogamiya road. “Mohsin died on the way to a nearby hospital.”
In Tangail, a man has been killed after being run over by a truck near the 30th pillar of Bangabandhu Bridge.
The deceased Abdul Quader was a fire and rescue personnel of Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA).
Abdul Quader was carrying out his duty near the 30th pillar of the bridge when a truck ran him over and fled, said Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station OC Kazi Ayubur Rahman.
“Abdul Quader was later taken to Tangail General Hospital where doctors declared him dead. CCTV cameras installed on the bridge are being monitored to identify the vehicle. Legal action will be taken after the truck is identified,” added the OC
In Netrokona, two minors have been killed in a road accident at Deosahilatala area in Madan upazila.
The deceased were identified as Sourav, 7, son of Lion Miya and Roman, 8, son of Al Amin.
Sourav and Roman were on their home on the tractor from a nearby field when the vehicle overturned and left them severely injured, said family members of the victims.
Locals took them to Madan Upazila Health Complex where the duty-doctor declared them dead, confirmed Madan police station Sub-Inspector Debashish.
