Police recovered nine sacks of government-allotted rice from Jamuna Ghat in Sariakandi upazila of Bogra Friday afternoon.
Quoting locals, Al Amin, officer-in-charge of Sariakandi police station, said several people were trying to smuggle the government rice but they had left the goods and run as some villagers saw them at Raohad Ghat around 12pm.
On information, police went to the spot and seized the rice weighing 450 kg, he said.
However, no one was arrested in this connection.
