Awami League lawmaker Kazi Nabil Ahmed has provided aid to the poor people of four union parishads under his Jessore 3 constituency amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Local Awami League and Chhatra League leaders distributed 800 food packages to the poor of Kashimpur, Haibatpur, Churamonkathi, and Arabpur union parishads on Sunday on behalf of MP Kazi Nabil Ahmed.
Talking to Dhaka Tribune, Biplob De Shanto, a local Chhatra League leader, said: "We distributed the food packages to 200 people in each union parishad, from a truck on behalf of MP Kazi Nabil Ahmed."
Earlier, the ruling party lawmaker also provided aid to the poor in the Jessore municipality area as a countrywide holiday is in place to fight the coronavirus outbreak.
Covid-19, a new strain of coronavirus, has so far led to the deaths of over 65,000 people in more than 200 countries and territories, including nine from Bangladesh.
