A Noakhali court has sentenced three people including the wife and son of the victim to life imprisonment for murdering an expatriate in 2016 in Begumganj upazila of Noakhali.
District and Sessions Judge Saleh Uddin Ahmed delivered the verdict on Thursday.
The convicted are Rehana Akhter, Md Hannan, and Md Mohon.
The court also fined them Tk10,000 each.
According to the case file, the deceased, Abdul Jahir's wife Rehana Akhter and Jahir's cousin Md Mohon developed extra marital relationship during Jahir's stay abroad.
Jahir found out about their adulterous relationship after coming back to the country, due to which Mohon with the help of Md Hannan, the son of Jahir and Rehana, killed Jahir and buried his body beside a canal behind their house.
Jahir's elder brother Humayun Kabir filed a case with the Begumganj model police station.
After investigation, police filed a charge sheet accusing the trio of murdering Abdul Jahir.
After hearing testimonies from 24 people, the court rendered its verdict.
