22nd council of Rangamati Pahari Chhatra Parishad (PCP) was held in Rangamati on Thursday, under the banner "Repel the reactionary, opportunist and treaty-breakers, and start working towards implementing the Chittagong hill tracts peace accord."
PCP Rangamati district unit president Rintu Chakma ran the program while Former MP and Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS) central committee's Vice President Ushatan Talukder was present as the chief guest.
During his speech, Ushatan Talukdar said key parts of the peace accord are yet to be implemented.
"Government is lengthening the process of implementing the peace accord which is helping no one. Everyone's rights will be upheld if the peace accord is implemented," Ushatan Talukdar said.
Former MP asked the leaders and activists present in the program to continue their movement to claim their rights.
Around 350 PCP leaders and activists came from different parts of Rangamati district to join the council.
PCP Assistant General Secretary Jagadish Chakma, Hill Women's Federation General Secretary Debosree Tanchangya, PCP Vice President Suman Marma, and many others also delivered speeches during the program.
