Raj and Pori, the tiger couple famous for giving birth to two rare white tiger cubs [albino] last year at Chittagong Zoo, have again brought two more regular cubs into their present family of six.
"The cubs born on Monday morning, are doing fine and are under our supervision. We hope that none of the newborns will suffer such a mishap as occurred last year, when the male albino cub was accidentally crushed under its mother's paw," said veterinary surgeon Dr Shahadat Hossain Suvo, acting curator of the zoo.

"The cubs will be kept out of sight of visitors until their eyes are developed completely; which may take about a week. It will not be possible to determine their sex until a few more weeks.
"If human beings get near the cubs, the mother may detect a foreign scent, which may prompt her to reject her babies. Without a mother's care the cubs are unlikely to survive at this stage," explained Dr Suvo.
Raj and Pori both stepped on their 47 and 45 months respectively. They were brought to the zoo from South Africa on December 9, 2016.
