Inter Service Public Relation (ISPR) Assistant Director (AD) Rashedul Alam Khan said the fishermen went to deep sea for fishing and their boat's engine broke down at one stage, reports UNB.

Naval ship BNS Sagar noticed the boat while patrolling the sea and rescued the fishermen on Thursday.

They were immediately given first-aid and food, said the ISPR official.

The fishermen are Md Yeasin, 18, Omar Faruque, 16, Mattul Hossain, 15, Ansarul Islam, 15, and Nazim Uddin. All of them are residents of Cox’s Bazar’s Moheshkhali upazila.

They were handed over to the boat owner, the AD added.
