3 wartime grenades, 6 landmines found in Bogra

Three grenades and six landmines, believed to be used during the Liberation War in 1971, have been recovered in Bogra.

The bombs were recovered from a pond at Rampura village in Adamdighi upazila on Saturday night.

Locals said some children discovered the grenades and landmines, while playing near the pond and informed others.

Adamdighi police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jalal Uddin said: "We recovered the grenades and landmines, and brought them back to the station at around 9:30pm."

The manufacturing years of the bombs are inscribed as 1965, suggesting that these bombs might have been used during the Liberation War in 1971, the OC added.
