Throat-slit bodies of man, daughter found in Chittagong

Police have recovered the throat-slit bodies of a man and his daughter from a house at Nimtoli, under Bandar police station in Chittagong city.

The deceased are Md Arif, 32, and Bibi Fatema, 4.

Arif’s wife was detained by law enforcers and interrogated about the murders on Saturday.

Sukanta Chakrabarty, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bandar police station, told Dhaka Tribune that they recovered the bodies around 9:30am on Saturday.

Assistant Commissioner (port) Kamrul Hasan of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) said they have apprehended Arif’s wife, Hasina.

He said: "Hasina is now in police custody. Primarily, we suspect that she might have killed them over a marital dispute.

"We are now interrogating her for details," the assistant commissioner added.
