Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi has said the present government is relentlessly working to resolve all the problems in jute sector.
“The present government is keen to solve all problems in jute sector. It has fully implemented the Mandatory Jute Packaging Act-2010 and brought back the golden days of jute by taking various programs,” he said.
The minister made the statement while addressing a meeting with the members of Bangladesh Jute Association (BJA) at the conference room of the Ministry of Textiles and Jute on Sunday.
The present government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, has already made mandatory the use of jute bags for packaging of 19 products in the country and working to increase the production and export of raw jute and jute products.
The government is relentlessly working to ensure the use of jute products and fixing the fair price of jute.
Textiles and Jute Ministry Joint Secretary Mohammad Khurshid Ikbar Rezvi, BJA President Sheikh Syed Ali, Senior Vice-Chairman Arzu Rahman Bhuiya and former BJA President Md Rezaul Karim were also present on the occasion.
