Three Rohingyas have been held with Bangladeshi passports from Kattoli area of Chittagong.
A team of police from Akbar Shah police station arrested them around 7:30pm on Thursday.
The arrestees are-- Md Yousuf, 24, his younger brother Md Musa, 22 and Md Aziz, 23-- hailed from Hakimpara refugee camp of Ukhiya upazila in Cox’s Bazar.
The Rohingyas were preparing to board a Dhaka bound bus to visit Turkish Embassy for visa purpose, confirmed Akbar Shah police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mostafizur Rahman Chowdhury.
He told Dhaka Tribune that three Bangladeshi passports were recovered from their possession.
“During primary interrogation, the trio confessed that they obtained passports from Noakhali passport office through a middleman, whose identity they have not revealed yet.
"The Rohingyas listed Senbag upazila of Noakhali district as their address in the passports,” said OC Mostafizur Rahman.
He further added that the Rohingyas are set to be produced before the court.
