Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) Vice-President, Nurul Haque Nur, and his companions have been reportedly attacked by some unknown miscreants in Patuakhali.
He was attacked while on his way to attend an Eid event at Ulania Bazar area under Galachipa upazila Wednesday afternoon.
On information, Patuakhali Circle Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Hafizur Rahman rescued Nur and sent him to Galachipa Upazila Health Complex for treatment.
Doctor Monirul Islam at the health complex said he had minor injuries and was sent back home after primary treatment.
One of Nur's associates, Rubel, told Dhaka Tribune: "On Nur's way to Ulania Bazar, some unknown miscreants blocked his motorcycle. They took him to a nearby steel shop and beat him.
"We are assuming the attack was carried out by Chhatra League and Juba League members," he added.
