Two more people, including a minor boy, have died after being diagnosed with dengue in Dhaka and Rajshahi.
An 11-year-old boy has died after being diagnosed with dengue at a hospital in Dhaka.
Avijit Saha, son of Mantu Saha, hailing from Amlapara area of Narayanganj city, died while undergoing treatment at Ajgor Ali Hospital in Dhaka's Gandaria at 1am Monday.
He was a class five student of a local primary school.
Confirming the matter, Narayanganj Civil Surgeon Mohammad Imtiaz Avijit said: "Avijit had been suffering from fever for few days. After running a dengue test and finding it to be positive, his parents admitted him to Ajgor Ali Hospital on Thursday night.
"As his condition deteriorated on Sunday night, he was shifted to the hospital's intensive care unit (ICU) where died later at night," he added.
With this, a total of five people from Narayanganj died of dengue.
In Rajshahi, another man has died of dengue.
Abdul Malek, son of Golam Nabi, hailing from Chapai Nawabganj Sadar upazila, died at Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH) on Monday noon.

Confirming the death, RMCH Deputy Director Dr Saiful Ferdous said: "Malek was infected by dengue virus while he was in Dhaka. His condition deteriorated as he returned home for celebrating Eid-ul-Azha at his ancestral home.
"He was admitted to the hospital on Monday morning and soon shifted to intensive care unit (ICU) in critical condition. He died while undergoing treatment at noon," he added.
Meanwhile, 25 more dengue patients were admitted to RMCH till 8am Monday while 28 others were released from the hospital.
Dengue infection persistent across country
A total of 2,093 dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country during the last 24 hours till Monday, said a government statement.
Dengue, a mosquito-borne virus, spreads among humans through its carrier Aedes mosquito.
A total of 842 patients have been admitted to different public and private hospitals and clinics in the capital and 1251 others in different hospitals outside of Dhaka, according to record of the emergency and operation center and the control room under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
At present, a total of 8006 dengue patients are receiving treatment at different hospitals across the country.
A total of 40 people died of dengue and 35,225 have returned home from hospital after taking treatment since January last.
However, the unofficial death toll reported is around 80.
