Police have recovered the hanging body of an unidentified youth, aged about 38, from Jessore's Chowgacha upazila.
The body, hanging from a tree branch in Hijli village, was recovered around 8:30am Saturday.
Union Parishad (UP) member Safura Begum said: "I visited the spot after locals informed me locating the hanging body in the morning. However, no one could identify the body wearing a grey T-shirt and reddish trousers."
Chowgacha police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Nazrul Islam said: "The body bore no injury mark and the cause of death cannot be confirmed without autopsy."
The station's Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rifat Khan said: "Initially we are suspecting it is a suicide case. The body has been sent to Jessore General Hospital mortuary for autopsy."
