A civil surgeon of Habiganj, Dr Sahadat Hossain, has died from dengue fever.
Doctors at Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in Dhaka declared him dead around 10:30pm on Sunday.
Supervisor of Habiganj Modern District Sadar Hospital, Dr Ratrinda Chandra Deb, said: “While at office, Sahadat started feeling sick from the morning and was admitted to the hospital in the afternoon.
“As his condition worsened, he was shifted to Dhaka, where doctors declared him dead.”
Dr Sahadat was promoted as Habiganj Civil Surgeon on July 9 and passed away within 13 days of joining the office.
