A man and his son have reportedly died after being struck by lightning in Jamalganj upazila of Sunamganj.
They died as lightning suddenly struck their boat while they were fishing in Paknar haor of Shantipur village under Fenarbak union early Friday.
The deceased- Ranu Miah, 36, and his son Sumon Miah, 13, died on spot in their fishing boat.
Later, other local fishermen found their bodies.
Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, Fenarbak Union Parishad member Md Yasin Miah said the incident will be reported to the district administration.
Jamalganj police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saiful Alam said: "The bodies have been handed over to their family. Furthermore, the administration will provide full cooperation to the family of the deceased."
