A mobile court in Jessore Sadar has fined a man for desecrating the national flag on Tuesday afternoon.
The accused Shafiqul Islam was fined TK1,000–when a large flag of Argentina was flying higher over a smaller national flag of Bangladesh–at his building, said Magistrate Md Jamshedul Alam of the mobile court.
Shafiqul was fined as per the Bangladesh National Anthem, Flag and Emblem (Amendment) Act, 2011, added Magistrate Md Jamshedul.
