A teenage boy has been killed in a road crash as a bus ran over him on Dhaka-Dinajpur Highway at Biral upazila in Dinajpur.
The victim was identified as Abdul Hakim Ananda, 17, resident of Dangapara village.
One of the witnesses, Firoz Hossain, said a Rahbar Paribahan bus ran over Ananda while he was heading towards Dinajpur town riding a bicycle around 10am on Tuesday. He died on the spot.
Locals blocked the highway for around an hour protesting the accident. Traffic movement came to a standstill, causing suffering to travellers.
Police brought the situation under control and cleared the road for traffic, said Golam Rasul, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Biral police station.
OC Golam said an unnatural death case was filed with the police station.
