9 killed in road crashes in 4 districts

At least nine people were killed and three injured in road accidents in four districts on Friday.

In Pabna, a motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision between his motorcycle and a truck on the Nagarbari-Bogra Highway around 11am on Friday.

The deceased identified as Biplob Hossain, died on the spot.

Kashinathpur police outpost In-charge Sumon Hossain said: "The deceased was rammed by a Bogra-bound truck while driving his motorcycle, and talking to a man on another motorcycle beside him."

In Bogra, at least four people were killed, and two others were injured in three separate road accidents.

The deceased are: Abdul Ghani, 38, Al-Amin, 28, Biplab Hossain, 30, and Abu Hassan, 26.

In Sadar upazila, two men were run over by a truck on Friday morning.

A truck rammed into another, killing two of the latter's passengers on the spot, said Bogra Sadar police station Inspector (Investigation) Rejaul Karim.

Meanwhile, Abdul Ghani fell off a cow laden truck, and was run over as the vehicle suddenly lost control, said Bogra highway police Sub-Inspector (SI) Kajol Nandi on Thursday.

In the Dupchanchia upazila, a CNG-driver was rammed by a bus, and died on the way to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZMCH) on Friday evening. 

In Dinajpur, two motorcyclists were killed, and one injured in a head-on collision between two vehicles in Fulbari upazila on Thursday.

The deceased was Mehedi Hasan, and Jalal Uddin, 55.

Fulbari police station OC Fakrul Islam said: "Jalal uddin died on the spot, and Mehedi Hasan died on his way to Rangpur Medical College Hospital."

Jalal's passenger, Ferdousi Ara, 45, his wife, was severely injured, and is now receiving treatment at M Abdur Rahim Medical College Hospital, the OC added.

In Habiganj, two passengers of a mini-bus were killed and five injured when the vehicle collided into a truck in Shaistaganj upazila on Friday.

The deceased were not identities immediately, said Shaistaganj Highway police OC Lilakat Ali.
