A Jana Sanghati Samity (JSS) activist has been shot dead in Bandarban district's Boangchhori upazila.
The incident occurred around 1:30am on Tuesday.
The deceased, Aun Thui Chi Marma, was a farmer.
Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, Boangchhori police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shariful Islam said: "The JSS activist was called outside from his home—by an unknown number of miscreants—and later was shot dead.
"The locals notified us about the incident. We recovered the body and sent it to the Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy."
