Bangladesh Coast Guard has seized 140,000 pieces of yaba pills from Saint Martin’s Island.
The yaba tablets were seized on May 18, said a press release issued by Coast Guard.
According to the statement, a group of suspected drug traders dumped two sacks of yaba tablets in the sea from a trawler and quickly sped away towards the Myanmar, reports UNB.
Later, the Coast Guards recovered the sacks filled 140,000 yaba pills.
On another incident, 500gram of marijuana was seized from a polythene bag at Saint Martin’s Island.
However, no one has been arrested in connection to these incidents.
The seized marijuana and yaba tablets have been kept at Teknaf police station.
