On the second day of raid on Tuesday against Sylhet's illegal travel agencies involved in human trafficking, five travel agencies have been fined a total of Tk1,10,000 in Sylhet.
Sylhet Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Md Nasir Ullah Khan said: “A drive led by Executive Magistrate Md Ashraful Haque was organized in several travel agencies in Mahajanpatti area of Syhet city.
“During the drive, the owners of the illegal travel agencies were fined and warned by the mobile court.”

Earlier on Monday, five mobile courts formed by the initiative of the district administration, sentenced nine people to different periods of imprisonment for involvement in human trafficking.
The drive will continue, said the ADM.
The issue of human trafficking came to light after at least 65 migrants, majority of them being Bangladeshis, died when their boat capsized in the Mediterranean Sea off the Tunisian coast en route Italy from Libya, on May 9.
