Two youths have been detailed by the Police over an attempted sexual assault of a fifth grader in Sreemangal on Friday.
The detainees are - Raja Mia, 18, son of Abdur Rahman of the Purbasha residential area, and Akash Rikiyashon, 18, son of Sudhir Rikiyashon of the Bhurbhuriya tea garden.
The father of the victim, Almach Mia submitted a written complaint against Raja, Akash and Suman Mia, 25, son of Abdul Hai of Biraimpur and brother of the local Union Council member Limon Mia.
Confirming the incident, Officer in Charge of Sreemangal Police Station Abdus Salek said: "Two of the accused have been detained, one [Suman Mia] managed to escape. An FIR has been filed."
"We are being pressurized to settle for a compromise. I don't know what I should do. I am poor man after all," said Almach Mia.
