Students of Savar Government College blocked the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Savar.
The students blocked the highway for about half an hour on Sunday at noon, demanding a standard government tuition fee at their college.
The blockade was withdrawn on assurances from the Savar municipality mayor.
According to the students, on August 8, 2019, PM Sheikh Hasina declared the college would be nationalized. However, students are still paying Tk550 a month in tuition fees to the college, which exceeds the government tuition fee scale.
The blockade on the highway had more than a hundred vehicles jammed up on both sides of the road for about a half hour.
Savar Sadar police station OC, FM Sayed, said: “Traffic on the highway is back to normal now.”
