Unidentified assailants have stabbed a woman to death at her residence in Chittagong.
The woman's son also sustained serious stab wounds during the attack.
The incident happened around 12:30pm on Tuesday at Korbaniganj area under the jurisdiction of Kotwali police station.
The deceased, Roksana Begum, 42, was living with her son, Abdul Aziz, 20, on the third floor of the four-storey building.
Critically injured, the son was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Assistant Commissioner Kotwali (Zone) Nobel Chakma confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune, saying that the police are yet to ascertain the motive behind the attack.
"We are investigating the matter and no arrests have been made so far. We are trying to collect CCTV footage of the area," said the police official.
