Manjiara’s family going to Sylhet to identify militant Morjina

The family of Bandarban’s Manjiara Parvin is going to Sylhet to identify the body of Morjina, one of the four militants killed during "Operation Twilight" in Sylhet’s Shibbari. Manjiara is the sister of Jubaira Yasmin, the female militant arrested from Chittagong earlier this month . Sources said Sylhet police and the administration sent a letter to Bandarban police to verify whether dead militant Morjina is Bandarban’s Manjiara. Bandarban police then contacted Manjiara’s family and asked two of its members to go to Sylhet to identify the body. Manjiara’s father Nurul Islam and elder brother Jiabul Haque are set to leave for Sylhet at 2pm on Tuesday, Baishari investigation centre’s Sub-Inspector Abu Musa said. Militant Morjina’s ID was used to rent the flat at Atia Mahal.

According to Manjiara’s national identity card, she was born on April 3, 1993 in Naikkhangchhari upazila of Bandarban. Her father’s name is Nurul Amin and mother’s name is Sabekun Nahar. Four dead bodies were recovered from the militant hideout in Sylhet’s Shibbari on Monday, after the four-day-long battle of attrition between militants and para-commandos.
