A young girl, the last surviving member of a family of four who suffered severe burns from a gas cylinder blast in Narayanganj, has died.
Faria, 9, died around 10:45pm Friday, at the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), confirmed DMCH police outpost in-charge, Inspector Bachchu Mia.
She had suffered 90% burn injuries.
Before Faria's death, her brother, Rafi, 11, with 98% burn injuries, died at the burn unit on Thursday, battling for his life for five days.
On April 6, a gas cylinder blast in Narayanganj caused severe burn injuries to Fatema Begum and her three children: Rafi, 11, Faria, 9, and Safawan, 5.
Faria, who suffered 97% burns, died at the DMCH on April 8. Safawan died on April 7.
