The brutal fire that ravaged FR Tower in Banani claimed the lives of husband and wife Maksudur and Rumki. Both their offices were located at the building.
Rumki Akhter, 30, was seven months pregnant. The couple had been married for around three years. Their families are devastated by their deaths.
Mohammad Maksudur Rahman, 32, son of late Mizanur Rahman from Alamganj, was from Gandaria in Dhaka. His wife Rumki was from Jaldhaka in Nilphamari.
Rumki was the youngest of three children. Her father Ashraf Ali told the Dhaka Tribune that Rumki’s mother died five months ago. The family was still processing her death, when another tragedy struck. Rumki was buried beside her mother after her namaz-e-janaza.
