Two people from Narayanganj died in the FR Tower fire in Banani on Thursday.
They are Md Fazle Rabbi, 30, son of Md Jahirul Haque from North Bhuigar, Fatullah in Narayanganj and Ahmed Zafar, 59, son of late Haji Helal Uddin from Nabinagar, Sonargaon in Narayanganj.
Both their bodies were handed over to their relatives on Friday.
Fazle Rabbi’s body was brought to the sadar upazila’s Bhuigar area around 4am. Zafar’s body was handed over to his relatives around the same time.
Ahmed Zafar was the chief of the transport department at Asif Enterprise. He retired as a senior officer of Sonali Bank and joined Asif Enterprise three months ago.
Family left insecure
Fazle Rabbi’s parents Jahirul Haque and Shagnaj Begum are stunned at their son’s death. His father does not know how their family is going to get by now.
His wife Sadia was frequently losing consciousness, seeing her husband’s burnt body. Along with other family members, he left behind a two-year-old child.
He worked at a freight forwarding firm located in FR Tower. He was working as a customer service and documentation executive at the firm for over a year.
Fazle Rabbi called his family for the last time at 1:53pm. He told them he was stuck, and that there was a lot of smoke all over. He asked his father and younger brother if he should jump from the building to save himself. They advised against it.
He was buried at a graveyard at this home village after Friday prayers.
