Former JnU student killed by crocodile

A former student of Jagannath University was killed by a crocodile at an eco-park in Shonakata, Barguna yesterday. Md Asaduzzaman Rony, 29, was attacked by the crocodile when he crossed the safety fence of the park and stepped into a restricted area around 12:45pm, according to locals and police. Kabir Akand, a resident of the area, said that the crocodile dragged the youth into a pond after he and his friends had entered the restricted area. Kamalesh Chandra Halder, officer-in-charge of Taltoli police, said that they had recovered the body with the help of locals and would send it to morgue for post-mortem examination.
