Candlelight vigil held for NZ mosque victims

A silent candle light protest was carried out by different social and cultural activists on Tuesday evening in Naogaon town to show solidarity with the victims of New Zealand's twin mosque attacks on Friday, where 50 people including five Bangladeshis were killed.

Among others, Ekushey Parishad President DM Abdul Bari, cultural personalities Ohidur Rahman, Sajal Kumar Chowdhury, Shariful Islam Khan, Murtoza Reza, Bin Ali Pintu and Nice Parveen spoke on the occasion.

The speakers strongly condemned the terrorist attack in New Zealand, and expressed solidarity with the victims’ families. They said they expect the New Zealand government to ensure justice to the barbaric act.

They also said terror attacks are happening at global level. Where ever a terror attack happens, it should be condemned.
