Three motorcycle riders were killed after their motorcycle hit a tree in the Mirsarai upazila in Chittagong around 1:00pm on Thursday.
The deceased were identified as Md Mehedi, 30, Md Arif, 20 and Md Ismail, 22.
According to police and local sources, the motorcycle on which the three youths were riding hit a tree while heading towards the Zorarganj Bazar to the Muhuri Project area in the upazila. The accident left all the three, critically injured. They were sent to the Mirsarai upazila health complex where the on-duty doctor declared them dead.
Sub Inspector Nurul Alam Bhuiyan of the Zorarganj police station said: “The accident occurred as the motorcyclist lost control and hit a roadside tree. On information, I rushed to the spot and sent the trio to the health complex. The bodies were handed over to the relatives of the deceased."
