Army man murder: Police foil suspect’s plan to flee abroad

A man who has been accused in the case filed over the death of a Bangladesh Army member has been arrested.

Immigration police arrested Firoz Molla, 48, from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday. He was scheduled to take a flight to Saudi Arabia.

Later, Firoz was handed over to the Mirzapur police, where he was detained for his suspected involvement in the murder of Bangladesh Army member Azizul Islam.

Mirzapur police station Officer-in-Charge AKM Mizanul Haq said: “We have brought him [Firoz] here. He is the second accused in the murder case.”

Army member Azizul Islam was killed in an attack by rivals over establishing supremacy in Mirzapur upazila of Tangail district on March 8.

Five people were previously detained by the police over the incident.
