A newly married woman was strangled to death by her husband early Saturday in Bogdohor village of Brahmanbaria’s Nabinagar upazila.
The deceased was identified as Rita Begum, 18, of Dhopakanda village of the upazila.
Nabinagar police station OC (Investigation) Raju Ahmed confirmed her death.
According to sources, Rita married Hashem Mia of Bogdohor village in the upazila, four months ago.
The couple was always quarreling since their marriage, said locals and police.
On the fateful day, they engaged in an altercation and at one stage Hashem strangled her to death.
Police recovered Rita’s body and sent it to Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Meanwhile, police arrested Hashem and filed a case against him, said the OC.
