An eighth-grade schoolgirl has allegedly been raped in Tangail.
The victim has been admitted to Tangail General Hospital in a critical condition. Her mother lodged a case with Tangail Model police station under Prevention of Repression Against Women and Children Act, accusing two people.
However, anyone is yet to be arrested.
According to the victim and her mother, the main accused Rifat, hailing from Hamidpur area in Ghatail upazila, resides in his uncle's house in Kagmara area in Tangail town. Rifat used to commute regularly to the victim's residential area in Baschanda.

On February 25, when the girl was returning from her school, Rifat lured her to his uncle's house, raped her and left her bleeding and unconscious, the victim's family said.
Concerned that she was not returning home from school, the victim's mother went searching for her. Later, upon finding her, the girl was rescued and admitted to Tangail General Hospital.
