The hijacker of a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight, Polash Ahmed, has been buried in Dudhghata village, of Sonargaon upazila, on Tuesday morning.
He was buried around 9:10am, said his father Piyar Jahan.
Earlier, on Monday night, his father was taken to Chittagong to identify his son's body, said CPM Assistant Commissioner (Karnaphuli Zone) Jahidul Islam.
After an autopsy at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH), his body was handed over to his father, added Jahidul.
Initially, on Monday, his family had refused to take Palash's body as they were ashamed of what he had done.

His father had said: “Palash was an unruly son. What he did was hurtful and brought shame upon us. I do not want to bring his body home."
On Sunday evening, Palash had hijacked Biman flight BG-147 mid-air after it took off from Dhaka, and forced the pilot to land at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong.
However, he had not harmed any passengers or crew members; instead demanded to speak to the prime minister and to his wife.
Following the proceedings, Palash was killed in a confrontation with security forces during their raid.
The plane conducted an emergency landing and all 148 passengers on board were evacuated safely. All the cabin crew members were also safe.
Later, the alleged hijacker was neutralised in an eight-minute-long commando operation.
